Labor - Non-union venues
Standard working day is 10 hours.
-- Non-union labor rates are $450/day for non-live events (single computer) and $500/day for live events (double-computer). Please note that for set-up of three or more camera mount teleprompters the rate is $500/day.
-- Overtime rate of time-and-a-half from 10-14 hours. The rate is $67.50/hr to $75/hr depending on the situation.
-- Overtime rate of double-time after 14 hours. The rate is $90/hr to $100/hr depending on the situation.Entry and clean up of scripts on-site is part of the day rate. However, there are charges for entry and clean up of scripts if done so prior to arrival on the job. The first half-hour is free, but every hour after that is $50 per hour.
* Day starts are based on call time and end after equipment is struck and loaded-out ... there are two exceptions to this:
-- jobs beyond a 60 mile radius of the Chicagoland area will be based on portal-to-portal times.
-- jobs that involve lodging off show site start and end their day based on departure and arrival times at the lodging hotel.
* For consecutive days of operation an eight hour turn-around is required - if one is not provided an additional $22.50-$25/hr will be charged for the hours worked on the consecutive day/s.
* Work performed between Midnight and 6:00 am will be charged an additional $22.50-25/hr on top of standard costs (day rate and/or overtime, if any)
Labor - Union venues
Our labor charges will fall under the contract that the union venue or shoot operates under.
Travel- Mileage is charged beyond a 60 mile radius of the operators start-point (see Labor)

* Costs for airline tickets and lodging are not the responsibility of SGW Teleprompter Solutions or its operators. These costs must be taken care of by the contracting entity or the end client.
* Per diem is required prior to departure from Chicago.
* Any day that includes set-up, strike, rehearsal, or operation of the teleprompter equipment does not qualify as a travel day and will be charged as a work day.
* On travel days when flying is involved our clock begins two hours prior to the scheduled departure from the airport (three hours for international) and ends upon arrival at our final destination (home, hotel or venue).
* All transportation (taxi or limo), parking, tips, shipping and/or excess baggage costs will be invoiced at the end of the job.
International* Travel days are $500/10 hours, plus time-and-a-half for the rest of the hours @ $75/hr. Our day starts 3 hours prior to flight departure time and ends upon arrival at the end destination (venue, hotel, home, office, etc.).
* Per diem is based upon US State Department rates that they update yearly/monthly depending on destination.
* Depending on destination and what equipment is involved a carnet may be required to ensure safe passage of that teleprompter equipment. If a determination that a carnet will be required it is not optional - and the costs will be billed on our invoice.
* Some destinations may require a "fixer" as well - if we determine that is a requirement it is not optional.
* All our other travel requirements remain in effect.
Payment
* SGW Teleprompter Solutions invoices on a Net 30 basis (with an exception immediately below). If payment is not received within that time period a late fee of 5% will accrue after the first thirty days, and 5% every 15 days thereafter. After Net 30 any discounts are negated and become full price. Note that any invoices past due over 6 months will be resolved either through a collection agency, through small claims court, or other options at our discretion, and the cost of doing so will be the responsibility of the client, person, or company that is late.
* New clients and companies from outside of the Chicagoland area are required to pay for 100% of SGW Teleprompter Solutions' services the first date of the job -- we can generate an invoice in advance of the job to pay from. Any unforeseen or additional expenses (overtime, parking, etc.) will be invoiced separately, after the job is completed.
* Money orders, checks, cash, Venmo, Zelle, credit cards (Visa and Mastercard through PayPal) are accepted for payment. Credit card payments will be charged an additional 4% to recover fees.
* Any questions or disputes about the costs on invoices we supply must be raised before the due date. Once the due date has passed the Total listed on the invoice is final.
* At union venues we will provide an invoice for equipment rental and any parking fees, and union labor costs will go on the Union payroll. If we will not be added to the union payroll and must do our own payroll you must notify us in advance of the event and we will determine an appropriate hourly rate.
Cancellation
Cancellation can be received via phone, text or email.
For jobs of two days or less duration:
-- A cancellation fee will be charged for less than one full business day notice that the job is canceled. The cancellation fee is 100 percent of the price quoted or bid.
For jobs of three days or more duration:
-- A cancellation fee of 75 percent of the price quoted or bid will be charged for less than five full business days notice that the job is cancelled.
A business day is considered as Monday through Friday. For example, if the job is on Wednesday cancellation would have to occur before Tuesday. We do not use call times as the basis of our calculations.
Most jobs use our teleprompting packages and are charged and bid using those prices as a basis. However, if cancellation changes the structure of the packages or bid prices the a la carte prices above will be used to determine new costs.
If dates/project hours are canceled/changed during a job those dates are subject to our one full business day notice policy. Example, we are booked for a job of three day duration (Tuesday through Thursday). But on Wednesday the client cancels use of teleprompter on Thursday -- 100% of the price for Thursday will still be charged.
Please note that we occasionally provide bids for specialty projects or circumstances that due to their nature will incur a 100% cancellation charge regardless of timeliness of the cancellation. We will notify the party/parties involved at the time of bidding of this circumstance.
Additional Notes
Estimates are available by request or will be supplied at our discretion. There is space at the bottom of the estimate for a signature -- the estimate must be signed and returned to us to engage our services.
Please review the estimate thoroughly as it is your responsibility to make sure it meets your expectations. Any questions about the estimate must be raised before the job starts. Your signature engages our services and turns the estimate into a contract.
Clients with payment policies over Net 30 to Net 60 will have $25/day added to the Rental Price List costs.
Clients with payment policies over Net 60 to Net 90 will have $50/day added to the Rental Price List costs.
Clients with payment policies over Net 90 will have $75/day added to the Rental Price List costs.
